On my way back from fishing at the middle net pens on Rufus Woods Reservoir, I swung into Seatons Grove to see if anyone was using the boat launch here. Since it’s just six miles from Grand Coulee, this used to be the most popular launch to reach the middle net pens, and the parking area would be packed with trucks and trailers. Many anglers now choose to launch at the Colville Net Pens site, as it is a much shorter run to the upper net pens, which is where most people like to fish. Even with the Access Permit and Lauch Fee, the convenience of launching here makes it worthwhile. There was one truck and trailer at Seatons Grove when I stopped here. One of the other popular fishing areas that is a fairly short run from Seatons Grove is the Buckly Bar. This has been a favorite of walleye anglers for decades. Although most people jump in their boats and roar off down river there can be good fishing near the launch. Remind me to tell you a story about my experience here a couple of years ago. It’s one of those “can’t believe it happened” stories, but I swear it’s true!
