I don’t know how you did on Rufus Woods Reservoir for trout this year, but I have had the worst luck that I can recall. I made a few trips earlier this year and either got very small fish, and not many, or nothing at all. Maybe it’s just me. As far as I know the Colville Tribe released the usual number of fish into Rufus Woods, although smaller than they have in the past. Instead of fish weighing 1.7 to 1.8 pounds, they were averaging 1.2 pounds. I would be curious to know how you did this year. For years I have been buying the annual Access Permit, Boat Launch fee and Tribal License. I didn’t this past year. After my first trip to the middle net pens launch site I decided not to. I am hearing that there some good days above Chief Joseph Dam. The fish being caught are small and success varies from one day to the next, and the same can be said for Brandts Landing. I usually look forward to fishing at Brandts Landing from the shore in the winter, but we’ll see. I’ll make at least one trip up there and see what happens.
