By Dave Graybill

I spent the last couple of days in the Columbia River Gorge, fishing for spring salmon. I was invited to come down and fish with my old friend Shane Magnuson. We fished on Monday, and then on Tuesday the plan was to have Buzz Ramsey join us. I first fished for spring salmon with Shane on the Icicle River. This was way back in 2007, before he got set up with a drift boat. We navigated the Icicle in a 12-foot aluminum boat that Shane borrowed from someone. The photo of Shane with the springer he landed is one of my favorites. Two years later, in the spring of 2009, Shane started fishing for salmon on Drano Lake and had me come down to try it out. We caught fish of course, but what I most remember is how wet and cold we got. Our first stop after getting off the river was the laundromat in Stevenson to dry out our clothes! I will be doing some reports on the fishing and shooting video as well. So be sure to Follow me on Facebook so you don’t miss these reports and videos that will be posted very soon.
