I introduced my daughter Whitney to fishing for smallmouth bass over twenty years ago, and she was hooked. We try to go to Banks Lake every year. She likes Banks, for the good fishing and scenery, and she has a favorite bay where we pull in, where she takes a swim break. She can cast a lizard or Senko and hook fish after fish. It doesn't matter if they are on the small side, she giggles and laughs and has a blast unhooking them and tossing them back. She is coming over for a trip to Banks, and I am particularly excited about this trip. She has never experienced topwater fishing for smallmouth. I was looking at photos from this time of the month last year, and I had Brad and Luke Hawkins on the boat, and we all caught some big smallmouth casting topwater lures. Whitney is going to love this. Also, she has never been on Lake Roosevelt, so I am going to launch the Mark’s Marine Thunder Jet Luxor at Keller. From there I we are going to fish for rainbow trout, which are wonderful eaters, and may even do some bass fish here, too. It’s going to be great!
