One of many of the things that my brother Rick and I enjoy is perch fishing. We find it to be really fun and the reward of a meal of perch fillets a special treat. With that in mind we made a trip to Fish Lake, near Lake Wenatchee earlier this week. I thought we would be fishing in a drizzling rain, but we experienced sun breaks and calm water.. We weren’t in a hurry, and we launched the boat at about 9:30. I moved out to the middle of the lake with the Minn Kota on the bow of the Mark’s Marine Thunder Jet Luxor and fired up the electronics. Using the Garmin Live Scan, we were able to locate schools of perch and went to work. I had told Rick that the perch in Fish Lake were bigger than what we were used to catching here, and it was confirmed. We had a very good number of perch that were over 10 to 11 inches long. At about 2 o’clock the breeze picked and we headed for the dock. Rick counted the fish into a bucket, and we had 35 perch to take home.
