One of the biggest Holiday Weekends of the year is coming up and if you are planning to get away, I hope you have made plans in advance. Most of the State Parks, Forest Service campgrounds and even private resorts will be full. However, there are often spaces available in places like northern Okanogan County. If you aren’t familiar with the area, you can learn more about the campgrounds and resorts and good fishing areas by visiting the Okanogan Country website at www.okanogancountry.com. It is packed with information about this part of the state, and I am sure you will find a place that your family would enjoy. Many folks like to stay close to home during these big Holiday weekends. We are fortunate here in Eastern Washington. There are many terrific fishing options available to us that make an easy day trip. Be aware that many of the launch sites on the upper Columbia will be especially busy with anglers fishing for sockeye. Although many of the boat launches at our lakes will be very busy over the Holiday Weekend, once you are on the water, there’s plenty of room. Stay safe and have fun.
