By Dave Graybill

I came back from Alaska with two boxes full of coho salmon and halibut. I’d say I am set for ocean-caught fish for quite a while. When I called an end to my sockeye fishing on Lake Wenatchee, I had sent a bunch of fish home with the folks that fished with me. However, I had only kept 2 ½ fillets for myself. So, no sockeye dinners or smoker loads for me this year. Also, I am in very short supply of walleye. There are just a few pieces of smoked triploid in the freezer, too. Amazing how fast these smoked fish disappear from the freezer. What’s a guy to do? Well, I had better get out on the water and get some. I am busy converting the Bob Feil Boats and Motors Smoker Craft from sockeye fishing to fishing for triploids and walleye. I plugged in the on board charger to the Minn Kota and checked the battery levels so I am sure the Mercury 250 will start. Throw a few rods in and I am ready to hit the net pens on Rufus Woods for triploids and Banks Lake for walleye, maybe on the same day!
