I know it’s late notice, but there’s an event at the Stein restaurant and beer hall in Leavenworth tonight, June 26th, at 5 p.m. I wanted to be sure to get the work out as Stein is hosting a Benevolent Night and the beneficiary is the Icicle Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Restaurant manager, Chris Giles, contacted me a while back as he and the owner have been followers of mine for many years. They wanted to have some kind of fishing related event at the restaurant and wondered if a seminar would be appropriate. I happened to know that the kids fishing pond on Blackbird Island was having some issues, and that Trout Unlimited needed some financial help to make some improvements to keep it going. Primarily, the pumps that feed the pond from the Wenatchee River needed repair. I suggested that they do something to help out, and they are. Stein, and sponsors Bob Feil Boats and Motors and the Sleeping Lady are inviting everyone to come there tonight All proceeds will support the local TU chapter and keep kids fishing! The pond is not only enjoyed by local youth but visiting families as well.
