I came across a post on Instagram that showed one of the boat launches on Lake Chelan choked with debris from the flood this past winter. I wanted to check on the conditions myself, so I drove up there on last Wednesday morning. I decided to start at the State Park, so I drove over Navaree Coulee Road that comes out right at the State Park. I found some debris piled at the end of the ramp, but they were all clear and several boats had launched that morning. I then went to the City Public ramp above the dam and found some debris here, too, but there was nothing to prevent people from launching their boats. I then checked on the boat launch at Manson Bay. Here I found the ramp covered with debris, but the docks were clear so people could boat to Manson to visit the restaurants and shops. My last stop was at Mill Bay, the busiest of all the boat launches on the lake. There are three ramps here and lots of parking. All the ramps were clear. Looks like people are able to have a great 4th of July Holiday on the water on Chelan. You can see photos of all the boat launches I mention and even a couple on the Columbia River on my Facebook page.
