Happy New Year everyone! I have high hopes for a spectacular year in 2026. Big things in the works and some plans for some great fishing experiences. People often ask me what I do this time of year, thinking that fishing is done for the season. Hah! I tell them the fishing fun never ends here in North Central Washington. There are so many great places to fish in the winter around here that I sometimes have a hard time deciding where to go next. I was looking back at some of the photos I took last winter and saw that I was all over the place. We had a slow start to really cold weather last year, too, and I had some great trips to Moses Lake. I fished from the shore off the rip rap near the I-90 Bridge and even got out in my friend’s boat. James Lebow was happy to launch at Blue Heron Park for the short run to the bridge. I remember one trip when the first fish that James landed was a 19-inch walleye. We go lots of doubles of nice perch that day. I hope to do this again soon.
