By Dave Graybill

I don’t think you would want me on your fishing boat right now. I am having a string of luck that I wouldn’t wish on anyone else. If I am on the boat, there will be only one fish landed. When I fished with Dave Eng, publisher of Salmon, Trout, Steelheader magazine and guide, we landed one fish. It was a ten-foot sturgeon, but hey. I fished with guide Shane Magnuson on the Reach for kings. Although he had been limiting every day, we landed one. On Thursday I fished with my good friend and guide Brian Nielson on Banks Lake for walleye, and—you guessed it we just got one. All the people I have fishing with are very accomplished anglers, so when I look for a reason for the lousy results of our time on the water, I have too look in the mirror. It must be me. Sure, I am discouraged, but I just shake myself off, and get up and go at it again. I have to. This streak has to end! Doesn’t it? I hope so. Better wait to invite me aboard your boat, until I have a good day!
