For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Last winter while Marion and I were vacationing on Whidbey Island, she introduced me to a friend of hers who has a cabin on Lake Wenatchee. Brett offered access to it and his dock if we were interested during the sockeye fishery. Since it opened last week, I had Marion reach out and see if the offer still stood. Sure enough, Brett was more than happy to have us tie the boat up to his dock. After working on the fuel system for the main motor and figuring out it was a cracked fuel bulb, we loaded up and headed for Lake Wenatchee Sunday afternoon. I figured the crush of people at the launch at the State Park would be less by then and we could launch undeterred. We drove right to the launch and found just a single boat tied to the dock with engine troubles. Once I finally got launched around him, I was off through the shallows and around the island to beat my way up the lake. The wind was blowing 15-to-20 mph and it was rough, but I got it there. Not to fish! Until next time, Good Fishing!
