For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Not sure if it's the full moon or what, but fishing Lake Wenatchee sockeye was a tough go the last two mornings. I slept on my boat Monday night and was up early Tuesday, bobbing around in the pre-dawn darkness trying to see. There wasn't really enough light for "fishing" until 5am. It wasn't until 6:15 that I got my first bite and lost EVERYTHING. More on that in a moment. I finally hooked up and landed a fish at 8:15. One more bite at 8:30 and that was it for the day. That is until I brought in my rod off the downrigger and lost EVERYTHING again! Come to find out my downrigger release had an abrasion that was cutting my line. With that fixed, I was out on the water yesterday morning at 5 a.m. with my buddy Dave Koepke. We got bit at 5:30 but then nothing until after 8 o'clock. We finally landed our one and only fish for the day at 8:30. Then nothing. No matter the depth or approach, we couldn't coax a bite. So, we went golfing at Kahler Glen. Until next time, Good Fishing!
