By Dave Graybill

I have been away for a few days, attending meetings in Olympia, and I have some ambitious fishing trips scheduled. The first one will be to Banks Lake. The last time I fished Banks my buddy Tom Verschuren and I got limits of walleye. We pulled crank baits for a while but had our best success pulling bottom bouncers on Bark Flats. I am taking a couple of guys to Banks that want to try jigging for walleye, and I am rigged and ready to give this a try. It should be good, and it will be fun to try a different method of taking walleye. We will probably spend some time fishing for smallmouth bass, too. The smallmouth fishing on Banks is usually off the charts and really fun. The following day Eric Granstrom and I are taking off for Kettle Falls. We will be meeting up with Austin Moser to go after the sturgeon on Lake Roosevelt. This will be just the second year that there has been a sturgeon season for sturgeon on Lake Roosevelt, and boy are we excited. We will be taking our camera gear along, so look forward to a video on where to go and how to catch these monsters.
