For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Driving over Stevens Pass last weekend, I was surprised to see all the rigs along US-2 from Gold Bar to Sultan. Marion asked what if they were hunters and I said, "no, they're fishermen." I figured there must have been some Coho showing up on the Skykomish. As we traveled through patches of fog over wet pavement admiring the changing leaves, I couldn't help but think of "the quickening." Now, for me, this refers to time speeding up. The older I get; the quicker time seems to go by. There's a reference in the bible to the quickening as an end of time and there's also the quickening related to pregnancy when a mother first feels movement. I just feel like time is moving too fast. Wasn't it just Memorial Day and we had the entire summer in front of us?! Before you know it, I'll be drilling through the ice going after perch with a Swedish Pimple. Which reminds me, I saw a photo posted by Mike McKee on the Wenatchee Fisherman's Forum of his mess of perch he caught at Moses Lake. The quickening could also mean a fish fry. Until next time, Good Fishing!
