For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Fall weather is upon us. It might send some less-hardy folks indoors for good until the sprung of spring, but not me. This is a time of year I absolutely LOVE! In fact, the place I'd like to take my last breath on this earth is on the edge of a clearing in elk country at daylight in the fall. That perfect time when it's just creeping daylight and there's not a sound. You blow into your hands one after another to keep your fingers from freezing. The bite of the morning air causes your nose to run and your eyes to water. Somewhere in the early gloom, you can hear the rustle of footsteps as a small band of elk rises from their beds to feed. The slight breeze is perfect, blowing in your face to keep your scent away. You can see shadows moving in the distance as the cows mew and bulls rattle the timber with their bugles, none of them having a clue you're there. That is my perfect spot. My other place is fishing in the rain amidst the burst of fall colors at Fish Lake. Until next time, Good Fishing!
