By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com I'm Eric Granstrom. Marion and I attended a memorial service for a friend Saturday morning, but had the rest of the weekend open, so we decided to make a run up to Banks and try walleye again. We arrived at Osborn Bay at about 5:30, launched and ran across toward the rocks on the upper end across from Coulee Playland. We trolled for an hour and a half with no results, then settled in for a fire, some steak and potatoes and a pleasant night's sleep. We were back on the water by 7 Sunday morning, trying the upper end again with no success. A chilly wind was blowing out of the north so we ran down to Steamboat. We fished in flat-calm water near the rocks in 55-feet of water and caught a nice, 17-inch walleye. We trolled for hours and got into shallower water near Barker Flats with nothing. At 12:30, we finally hooked up again and landed a 16-inch walleye. We were using a simple setup with a slow death hook, worm, and a couple beads and Macks Mylar Spinner Blade. We got a lot of sun, but only 2 fish. Until next time, Good Fishing!
