By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com I'm Eric Granstrom. Mother Nature is one great big tease. She gave us sunshine and temperatures in the 60's just a few weeks ago. The local tire stores were jammed with people getting their studs removed. Now, I look outside my window here in East Wenatchee this morning to 5-inches of new snow. Wait! What?! Let me check the calendar again. Yup! Sure enough! It's APRIL 14TH!!! She warmed up enough to chase us off our favorite ice fishing ponds only to tease us with dreams of walleye and trout. Guess we wait for her to figure things out. In the meantime, when it was a little warmer a few weeks ago, Marion and I spent time up at Banks Lake, launching at Northrup. This is part of the State Park system around Steamboat along State Route 155 between Coulee City and Electric City. It has a great launch with two docks and plenty of parking. Cost to launch is $7. There's a picnic area with a fish cleaning station. There's also a boat cleaning station to help remove unwanted aquatic vegetation. If you want quick access to Steamboat, Northrup is the place. Until next time, Good Fishing!
