I took a trip to Chelan last weekend and decided to take a look at Roses Lake. I am not sure you are aware, but the road down the hill and the parking lot has been completely redone and paved. There is even a brand new “L” shaped dock at the launch. There were a couple of boats out on the water and a good number of folks fishing from shore. It looked like most everyone was having very good luck filling their stringers with rainbow. The WDFW plants Roses each fall and if memory serves me I think they put 12,000 catchable-size rainbow in the lake in October or November. They added another 2,000 to the lake that were 2.5 trout per pound, and on the 26th they put 250 ½-pound rainbow in the lake. Most of the anglers were just fishing Power Bait on the bottom, but some were casting spinners to catch their fish. Fishing should be great here for a while. I want to remind anglers that the launch on Roses gets very slippery. It is best to launch with a 4 wheel drive vehicle and watch your step when you are walking on the ramp.

Anglers were having great luck catching rainbow trout on Roses Lake from the new dock.
