By Dave Graybill

I am getting some good very reports on walleye fishing now. My buddy Brian Neilson limited on Potholes Reservoir earlier this week. He said they were just eaters, but to get a limit tells me that the pre-spawn bite is going great. He was fishing just inside Lind Coulee. I am also eager to get up to Banks Lake. It appears that anglers are getting fish between Steamboat Rock and Barker Flats in 40 to 50 feet of water, and Barker Flats proper is producing some fish, too. All this tells me that the bite on Moses Lake should be happening. I have been waiting for the opening of Connelly Park to use the launch. It is closest to the areas I like to Fish on Moses. There is a flat just above Connelly that is pretty good, and I always spend some time here before venturing further up lake. I like to fish the upper end, starting at the reedy point where the lake takes a bend. Then I just start looking for fish out in the middle in 7 to 10 feet of water. Sometimes the walleye are in as little as 3 feet of water in the spring.

I got this nice walleye in the upper end of Moses Lake about this time last year.
