By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. It's funny, I talk with a lot of fisherman who say they don't go on opening weekend because there's too many people. But if you think about it, we all HAD to fish opening weekend at some point in our lives to get hooked on this sport to begin with, right?! Marion had some friends who make their annual pilgrimage to Pearrygin Lake for the opening weekend and make it a reunion of sorts. They were staying at Silverline Resort and invited us to visit. After a doubleheader baseball game Saturday, we hooked up Dad's trailer and headed north. We arrived at my family's lot near Twin Lakes just before dark and ran up to see Mel and Lisa. They said the fishing was great and we should try it the next morning. After a good night's sleep, we grabbed the lawn chairs and threw some Power Bait off the beach at Silverline. I caught my limit of smaller plants and then Marion hooked into two monsters back-to-back. Each were 20-and-a-half inches and well over 2-pounds. You can see the video on our Facebook page today for more information. Until next time, Good Fishing!
