By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. The lowland lake opener in Washington State is this Saturday. For many families, this marks the annual tradition that brings generations together for a get together at their favorite spot. For those who head to Jameson Lake, know that the fire changed the landscape considerably up there last year. If you travel north of Soap Lake on SR-17 you'll see tons of folks lining the shores of Park and Blue Lake fishing and camping. Wapato Lake up by Chelan is another very popular spot for fishing families to gather, even though the lake is open year-round. The Washington State Department of Wildlife has committed to an extremely generous planting program to make sure anglers will have a good chance of catching trout this weekend. Other crowded spots this weekend will also be Fish Lake by Lake Wenatchee; the Quincy Lakes; as well as Pearrygin near Winthrop. I fished Pearrygin quite a bit last year with early season fish in great shape. The longer the season went and as the water's warmed, the fish started showing warty-spots on their sides. There's no harm in eating them, they just look unpleasant. Until next time, Good Fishing!
