By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Several hunting seasons have opened and more are on the way. The chill of fall is in the air and officially arrives this week. The days are counting down on several of our seasonal lakes closing for the winter. What to do, what to do? I'll tell you what I love this time of year. After the kids go back to school and the usual work routine sets in for the adults, that means there's not a lot of pressure on Fish Lake. Several years ago in the fall, I picked a Saturday on the calendar where I was determined to get out on Fish Lake and see what I could find. As usual, my boat was not functioning so I'd planned to rent a boat from Scott and Nadine at the Cove Resort. I awoke the morning of my planned outing to torrential rains and cold conditions. Not to be deterred, I grabbed my duck hunting neoprene, rod and tackle box and headed out. It was pouring at the lake, but no wind. I had the entire lake to myself and spent all day catching one little rainbow after another. How fun! Until next time, Good Fishing!
