The Wenatchee Sportsmen’s Association invites you to attend the celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Day with a free event on Saturday, September 29th. It will be held at the North Central Washington Gun Club at Francher Heights in East Wenatchee from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. The event is free to youth ages 6 to 16 and accompanying adults. There will be target shooting, with rifle, shotgun and bow and arrow and information on hunting, fishing and conservation of fish and wildlife and habitat. The first 300 participants will receive a packet with information and goodies. There will be prizes awarded and there is no need to be present to win. This event was first introduced as one of the WDFW’s statewide events, and has now an annual celebration of hunting and fishing thanks to the Wenatchee Sportsmen’s Association and a long list of local sponsors. The popularity of the event has grown and families will find it both educational and fun. It will be a great way to spend a Saturday and it is hoped that it will inspire youth to get involved in the outdoor activities offered at the event.
