By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. As I said in my Tuesday report, I'd hoped to have my boat back on the sunny side of the state by now, but a literal wrench was thrown into those plans when my Dad decided to enlist the services of a local high schooler to install a new starter in it. I found my engine compartment in shambles upon my arrival at my Dad's place and quickly surmised I'd either return home empty handed because I didn't have the time to fix it completely myself, or choose from the litany of boats my Dad has parked around the homestead. The one I chose to grab was a 2001 Smoker Craft Alaskan. It's 16-feet long and has three pedestal seats, downriggers, a bowmounted trolling motor and a 40 horsepower 2-stroke Evinrude for its main power. It's a great boat that belonged to my former father in-law. He was selling it and Dad volunteered to buy it, even though the last thing my Dad need was another boat! So, there it has sat for the better part of two years, never being used. So that's now parked in my driveway waiting to go out. Then I got sick. Until next time, Good Fishing!
