Here are a few items that you may want to put on your calendar. First is the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting for March is in Wenatchee. It will be held at the Red Lion Inn starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, March 16th and again at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning. To get a look at the agenda for the meeting you can log onto the department web site and look under Commission Meetings. Next up is the annual Burke Lake Trout Derby, which will be held on Saturday, March 24th this year. There will be cash prizes for the longest fish in adult and youth categories. Another prize this year is a guided kokanee trip on Lake Chelan, and the top prize will be a 12-foot fishing boat and motor. You can get all the details and even register for the event by going to FishingMagician.com and clicking the Something Fishy in Quincy logo on the Home Page. Another item of interest is a free seminar at Bob Feil Boats and Motors scheduled for Tuesday, April 3rd, starting at 5:30. Gary Feil will be talking about current electronics and Lance Effrig will speak about kokanee fishing on Lake Chelan.
