For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. We had a crew of kids come by the TV station yesterday. Apparently it was a day off from school and the 7 through 9 year olds needed someplace to go, so we agreed to give them a tour. 30 of them. I'm not sure if they were hopped up on Red Bull or if it was a natural state, but they were out of control. They were grabbing and touching this and that, wouldn't listen, talked over the top of each other, yelled, pushed...it was a sight. Once the kids were gone and I collapsed back in my chair at my desk, I pondered if I was ever like that as a kid. Thinking of my Dad, I quickly had my answer...heck no! I wouldn't be alive today if I'd acted like that. Dad's booming voice and accelerated raspiness in its quality based on the level of our misbehavior was enough to stop us in our tracks. Then I thought about fishing. Did I constantly have my gear twisted and tied in knots? Did I constantly loose my bait or lure? Probably so. But that was different. I learned through his presence. Until next time, Good Fishing!
