James Lebow, of Moses Lake, is keeping an eye on the ice on Moses Lake for me. Last week he even drove to the lake, and when he saw people out on the ice near the I-90 Bridge he decided to go out and see how they were doing. He had to look around for a place get out on the ice, as it isn’t frozen right up to the bank. The ice was okay once you get away from the shore. The ice is very slick when there is a light rain. When he did get out to the area where people were fishing he found out that the fishing has been slow. Now this can change from day to day, as can the ice conditions right now. People at Moses Lake are always very eager for safe enough ice to drill holes to get at the perch. I would rank the perch fishing in the winter through the ice at Moses Lake the best in the region. There are some very nice walleye taken through the ice while fishing for perch at here, too. Keep watching the weather forecasts. I there are a few days of sub-freezing temperatures overnight then the ice may become safe enough for fishing.
