I got a report earlier this week that there were folks fishing on the ice near the I-90 Bridge on Moses Lake. I have been checking the forecasts and the temperatures haven’t been all that chilly this past week. I want to double check on the ice on Moses before I recommend that you head down there for some perch fishing. The same is true on most of the popular ice fishing lakes in the region. I took a look at the web cam on Fish Lake, near Lake Wenatchee, and it is covered with snow, but I can tell that even the layer of snow isn’t that thick. Ice fishing season is just about here, just not quite yet. That doesn’t mean you can’t get ready. I was in my storage area the other day, and while I could easily spot my auger and sled, exactly where my special rods and reels and other items I use when fishing on the ice weren’t within eyesight. It will take some digging to get it all together. Might as well do it now. I don’t want to plan a trip and get in a rush and forget something. Has that ever happened to you?
