For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Happy 56th Wedding Anniversary to Dave and Judy Granstrom!!! After spending a week with my parents last week, and watching Dad take such good care of Mom...I could find no better example of true love than that. They met at a logging camp in Northern California in the 1950's as teenagers. They began writing love letters back and forth while in high school and, after graduation, Dad moved to her hometown of Forest Grove, Oregon to attend Pacific University. Much to her father's chagrin, they began dating, making plans to marry. Their story is a true Hallmark Channel movie as Dad swept Mom away from the angry clutches of her father, ran away to Couer de'Alene where they eloped and began life together on this day in 1963. So what's this have to do with fishing? Well, a story we shared together last week that brought lots of laughter was a fishing adventure they took to Pearrygin Lake in Winthrop. While fishing in my grandfather's old, aluminum 12-foot boat, they soon found themselves neck deep in water as Dad went to wash his hands after catching a trout and Mom didn't lean away. Bloop! In the water they went. Until next time, Good Fishing!
