For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I'm hearing good reports on the ice so if you've been waiting to get out and find some perch, now's the time. Fish Lake near Lake Wenatchee continues to produce. Of course, there's always the adventure of heading north to Bonaparte Lake in Okanogan County. Head north on Highway 97 to Tonasket and turn on Highway 20 towards Wauconda. In fact, there's an ice fishing derby happening there this Saturday if you really want an adventure. It's their first-annual event with a kids category for $5 and adult category for $10. Registration starts at 7am at the Bonaparte Lake Resort. You have a chance at multiple species here, so this should be fun. And if you're up north that far, you might as well drop by Curlew and try through the ice there. I fished through the ice in my freezer this morning and pulled out some Rocky Reach sockeye we caught last summer for dinner tonight. I'll add a little butter, Lawrey's garlic salt, a few slices of lemon and some onions, wrap it in tin foil and throw it in our convection oven for about 20-minutes at 350. Until next time, Good Fishing!
