For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Happy New Year! Now that January is here, just a reminder that you have until the end of this month to submit your hunt reports for 2022. A hunter report is required for each deer, elk, bear and turkey tag as well as for each special hunt permit awarded. The easiest way to do it is online through the Department of Fish and Wildlife's site at www.fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov. Be sure to have your tags handy as you'll have to submit the tag number for each species. This is required to avoid a $10 fee whether you harvested an animal or not and even if you didn't even hunt. Last time we spoke, I was reporting on the #1 go-to lure/bait for fishing perch through the ice. A Swedish Pimple with a perch eyeball was by far the favorite but I also learned some other interesting information. According to several of my fishing buddies I polled, they think it's well worth the investment into sonar equipment to find fish under the ice. As with most things "fishing", there's a myriad of options out there with a wide range of prices. Until next time, Good Fishing!
