By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. The level of fanaticism over kokanee fishing is incredible. There are die hard fisherman who chase the delectable silvers year around. Whether its Lake Chelan or Lake Roosevelt or other year around bodies of water in the northwest, you'll find the crazy kokanee addicts all over, even in the dead of winter. I remember a trip I took with Dave aboard Shane Magnuson's guide boat in Lake Chelan in early March several years ago. At that time, it seemed odd to me to be chasing kokanee while snow still lined the hills surrounding the lake. But, there we were, trolling along and catching one kokanee after another. Since then, I've learned that it really doesn't matter WHEN you fish kokanee, just WHERE. Watch the discussions on the Wenatchee Fisherman's Forum and you'll see guys reporting success on various stretches of water up and down Lake Chelan. Of course, how could you resist braving the cold and snow on Roosevelt finding those giant slabs that look more like sockeye salmon than trout? When you boil it all down, that's what's great about living in North Central Washington. If you want kokanee, go find 'em! Until next time, Good Fishing! https://youtu.be/aopj2bOYbxA
