Last Sunday my wife and I did a tour of a few lakes in our region. In a previous report I mentioned that the shore fishing at Jameson Lake was excellent and there were some big trout available to anglers here. We next stopped at Park Lake. The rain had driven most everyone off the water and to the shelter of the RVs or tents, but I did get to talk to a couple of anglers on the dock. They said that the morning fishing had been very good. Limits of rainbow were being landed, and some of the fish were up to 17 inches. This is pretty typical of Park Lake in the early season. Since there has been little pressure there are lots of hungry rainbow in here with a very good number of carryovers in the catches. The same should be true of Blue Lake. There were a good number of anglers fishing the shoreline along the highway. Blue Lake usually follows exactly what happens at Park Lake, so it would also be a good place to go, with ample shore access to spread out. Good luck this weekend!
