By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. While my turkey hunt Tuesday didn't land a bird in my possession, it was certainly great to get outside. I heard fishing was a little slow Tuesday as well. My Dad has this theory that the game we pursue reads the game pamphlets. Maybe the turkey and fish watched the governor's press conference about fishing and hunting reopening Tuesday. I had a memory on my Facebook page pop up this week that it was a year ago that Marion and I had great success fishing trout at Billy Clapp Lake. I can't help but wonder how the fishing would be there right now. We spent a couple days catching limits of fierce-fighting pound to pound-and-a-half rainbow that were simply spectacular. We were actually targeting kokanee but I couldn't get the rods down on the downriggers fast enough before the rainbow were hammering our bait. In fact, one struck so hard that is snapped my Lamiglas rod in half before I knew what happened. If you follow us on Facebook, you can see a photo of me and one of these beautiful fish. We caught most on a Rapala orange/gold minnow. Until next time, Good Fishing!
