By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I think traditions begin by accident. I found myself fishing at Billy Clapp Lake just east of Soap Lake yesterday. As I went through photos and videos from a year ago, I was also at Billy Clapp Lake last year. So the thought dawned on me, "is this a tradition?" I know of families who have traditionally gone to the exact same spot for Memorial Day weekend for generations. But how did it begin? I believe it starts with a good time and the creation of memories. Marion and I had a great time on Billy Clapp last year. We caught a ton of rainbow that all ranged from 1-to-2-pounds and fought like crazy. In addition, the weather was stellar and we laughed and had a great time. So, when tasked with another trip for Memorial Day this year, Billy Clapp came to mind. I think that's exactly how traditions are born. On this trip, fishing was slow and the weather was gray and rainy. I had a lot of company on the water and didn't see many fish caught. I felt fortunate to come home with three nice rainbow. Until next time, Good Fishing!
