For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. It sure is nice to see a tradition that began over 20-years ago continue to this day. I'm referring to the Kids Fishing Day at the Pit Pond in Rock Island. This is something Dave Graybill actually helped get started over 20-years ago. The Wenatchee Sportsmen's Association has taken it on as one of their primary volunteer events each year and provide guidance as well as gear for kids throughout the Wenatchee Valley. This year's even is this Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Pit Pond in Rock Island. The Department of Fish and Wildlife stocked the pond a couple weeks ago with 1,600 rainbow trout and I was told yesterday by Rock Island Mayor Randy Agnew that Fish and Wildlife was back again Wednesday, putting even more lunkers in the lake. The City of Rock Island has really gotten involved over the past several years and rallied businesses in the community to help support the event. Lamb Weston is also bring in their french fry trailer for free fries to go along with the free hot dogs. This is a great way to introduce kids to fishing. Until next time, Good Fishing!
