By Dave Graybill

It had been over a year since I had been to Crescent Bar, which is a large recreation and resort complex between Wenatchee and Quincy. I had heard that Grant County PUD was conducting a very intense program of improvements to the complex and I arranged a tour of marina, campground and other public areas. It was so different that when I arrived I drove right past the entrance to the marina! Instead of a large, gravel parking area, there is a paved and striped parking lot and all new docks and launch site. The new docks will accommodate more boats than before and the extra long dock at the launch will allow for multiple boats to launch. There is also a fuel dock. The folks from Grant PUD also pointed out another launch site across from the marina that will be improved with parking for 70 trucks and trailers. The new launches will be free for day use. Just across the road is a new RV campground that will have 55 full hook ups when completed. Visitors can access a reservation system to plan ahead. These improvements are part of the over 50 million dollars Grant County PUD has invested in recreational sites in our region since it license renewal in 2008.
