By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I was very fortunate to have a very small part in last weekend's NCW Youth Hunting and Fishing Day at the NCW Gun Club in East Wenatchee, put on by the Wenatchee Sportsmen's Association. I volunteered my time to run the PA, which was provided by NCWLIFE Channel TV. Wenatchee Sportsmen's Association Vice President Keith Boyd was hoping for 100 kids. They served 500 hot dogs; ran out of giveaway backpacks less than two hours in; and had to send reinforcements to town to get another thousand rounds of .22 shells. It was a smash success and that goes to all involved. Such as the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation; Sangster Motors; Stan's Merry Mart; and Sportsman's Warehouse for providing sponsor money and prizes. A big thanks also goes out to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife; the US Fish and Wildlife; Cascadia Conservation District; Upper Columbia Salmon Recovery Board; Chelan County PUD; Chelan County Sheriffs; Douglas County Sheriffs; Chelan County Fire; as well as the NCW Gun Club for providing the host facility. For those of you on Facebook, you can see the smiling faces of the kids. Until next time, Good Fishing!
