By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. If you have youngsters, I have something for them! In a couple Saturday's, the 16th of September to be exact, the Wenatchee Sportsmen's Association is hosting the North Central Washington Youth Hunting and Fishing Day in East Wenatchee at the NCW Gun Club. It's free and will include hands on activities for kids including education on outdoor recreation; the environment; and wildlife. In addition, they'll be able to learn how to handle firearms safely; cast a fishing rod; shoot a bow and arrow; and shoot actual guns! It all gets underway at 10am on Saturday, September 16th and goes until 3pm and all kids who attend will receive a draw string backpack full of goodies; get a free lunch of a hot dog, chips and water; and be entered to win great door prizes thanks to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Cabela's and Sportsmen's Warehouse. I've felt for years that there should be a mentorship program where those of us in the hunting and fishing world offered our services to single parents who want to introduce their kids to the outdoors. Well, this Youth Hunting and Fishing Day is a start. Until next time, Good Fishing!
