By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. If you're in for an adventure and a lot money for fuel, a run to Lucerne on Lake Chelan for some hot kokanee fishing. Now, this isn't for the faint of heart or small of boat. The stretch above 25 Mile Creek Campground is extremely exposed. The wind can whip through there pretty good and with the canyon walls coming right down to the lake, the swells and chop can get pretty big. However, once you get to Prince Creek Campground and turn the corner towards Domke Lake and nearby Lucerne, you're in! Take heed, even if you put in at 25 Mile Creek, it's another 50-miles to get to Lucerne. That means packing some extra fuel with you. I saw a photo posted by Lance Effrig on the Wenatchee Fisherman's Forum of a nice haul of about 43 fish, most of which nice-sized kokanee. And by the sounds of it, Kokabow tackle did the trick in a myriad of colors. And the great thing about Lake Chelan is the limit of 10 kokanee per person. So if you can find them, and stay with them, you can get a boat-full. Until next time, Good Fishing!
