For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. The boat is tucked away in the shop for the winter, but I still have the itch to get out fishing. This is the time of year bank fishing on Lake Roosevelt and Rufus Woods Reservoir offer pretty good opportunities. It was a year ago yesterday that I was fishing near a net pen near Lincoln. The fishing was slow, but I came home with four nice, fat rainbow trout casting Power Bait with a slip sinker setup. Several years ago, Dave and I were able to land a couple nice triploid fishing off the bank on Rufus Woods at Brandt's Landing. There are several nice spots with picnic tables and fire rings along Highland Orchard Road north of Bridgeport. Our approach this day was a shrimp and marshmallow. It seems that Rufus is dead unless there's a little bit of water flow. Of course, there's always fishing along the beach just above Grand Coulee Dam and at Keller on Lake Roosevelt. Just be sure to bring some dry wood and a lighter to start a warming fire. Also, be sure to pack out your garbage and unused wood. Until next time, Good Fishing!
