For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. First off, let me give a big shout out to Smiley in Yakima for letting me know that Mardon just put out a report on fishing at Potholes last week. It gave me great insight on a fishery I was walking into blindly. Next, the other thing I should have checked before making our reservations was the weather. Turned out to be quite a windstorm on Saturday with gusts over 40-miles per hour. Thankfully I was preoccupied with calling an 8-man playoff football game up in Moses Lake for the afternoon, so fishing was out of the question. Marion and I took to the water Saturday morning with even more intel from Nate Bratton, who braved the wind Saturday to take his boys out fishing. He said to definitely try along Medicare Beach and off the State Park in about 30-feet of water. We ran over to Medicare Beach first and found some marks on the screen. We tried jigging for a walleye for nearly an hour with no success. We finally started trolling a worm harness and bottom bouncer, also with zero luck. We finally caught one off the State Park. Until next time, Good Fishing!
