By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. My wife Marion and sister in-law Tricia just returned from a 1,060-mile journey to Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia. Of course, I HAD to throw in some fishing tackle and a fly rod and buy an 8-day license for the trip! It will take more than one of these reports to barely scratch the surface of our adventure and the incredible outdoor opportunities to be had in the Kootenay region of eastern B.C. My first impression of the area that butts up against the western wall of the Canadian Rockies was breathtaking. And clean! There wasn't a spot of garbage along ANY of the roads we traveled. Each rest stop, bathroom, even pit toilet was spotless. We visited several British Columbia Provincial Parks along lakes that were similar to state parks here in Washington but more-so. Each included expansive RV and tent camping, boat ramps, docks and ample space to stretch out. Overnight camping ranged from $30 a night Moyie Lake Provincial Park complete with water and sewer to $23 a night at remote Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park. There's much more to come on our B.C. adventure in the coming reports. Until next time, Good Fishing!
