For FishingMagician.com I'm Eric Granstrom. Our 3rd day in Eastern British Columbia had 2 spots on the map picked out. First up, about a 100 km south of Radium Hot Springs was Premiere Lake Provincial Park.
The drive was an hour and a half through a mix of fir and pine forests along a paved road right up until about 2 miles from the lake. The water is nestled against the West Sloped of the Canadian Rockies, is crystal clear and gorgeous!
We wound our way through the campground to the boat launch area where there's limited shor access for fishing. I used a slip sinker set up with garlic scented sherbert Power Bait and was bit immediately. It wasn't long before I landed a beautiful 15 inch rainbow.
A hiking trail takes you to a cool old fish ladder which were full of native rainbow lined app to spawn. The camp host told me they also plant about 55,000 fish per year and there's a 2 fish limit. The campground has 57-RV and tent sites. I'd bring a boat and stay several days at Premiere Lake for an incredible experience. Next up, Whiteswan Lake. Until next time, Good Fishing!
