For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. My sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law were visiting for the weekend and I'd hoped to get them out fishing. After messing with the carburetor on my kicker for a couple days, I didn't have confidence to take them out. Coincidentally, my friends John and Amy Gustin asked if I wanted to go fishing. I asked if Sonja and Tim could tag along and they said, "Sure!" We met at Confluence State Park Tuesday morning at 6 and joined the 18-boats that were trolling the right circle along the western bank below Rocky Reach Dam. Four of the dam gates were open when we arrived and the water had dropped a couple feet. It wasn't long before we had a sockeye on, and lost it. This would be quite a theme for the four of us working the rods and net, unfortunately, while John concentrated on driving. Speaking of which, if you attempt this fishery and there are lots of boat, you really should have one person concentrate on driving. We ended up with a beautiful sack of sockeye, sending Sonja and Tim back home with incredible table fair. Just think, it's early. Until next time, Good Fishing!
