By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. There's nothing that lights a fire in me more than when someone tells me I can't do something. I remember when I was little, my brother was able to cross the street and play with our friends but Mom told me I couldn't because I wasn't old enough. Boy did that bother me! I can't?! What do you mean I can't?! Of course, Shawn was five years older than me and I was still in diapers, but the point remained! Later in life, I had a doctor tell me after a neck injury in college that I couldn't play football anymore. THAT was a tough pill to swallow. This had no wiggle room. It wasn't a matter of do this or that and you'll heal up and might be able to go again. This was a stern, "NO" and that I'd risk paralysis if I tried. Hearing the words "you can't do that" have never gone over well with me. Now, just this morning, my wife came to me and said, "you know, you're sick and we shouldn't go fishing this weekend." The fire is lit. I'm doing all I can to get better so we can go. Until next time, Good Fishing!
