By Dave Graybill

I got out on Lake Roosevelt last Saturday with Austin Moser, and it almost didn’t happen. He called me when I was getting to Keller, saying that the high winds that were predicted were hitting the reservoir, and we may not be able to fish. Since I was already there and had my gear still the truck from fishing from the shore the day before, I headed down to the beach just below Keller and cast out two rods. I hadn’t been fishing long when Austin texted me a photo of flat water at Crescent Bay and to come on down. I reeled in and found a 14-inch fish on one of the rods, packed up and headed for Crescent Bay. The wind was just starting to hit here but we gave it a try and ran out six rods. On one of them I put the new Copper Series blade and a Ravisher spinner from Kokabow Tackle. We were trolling for about ten minutes when the line popped from the clip and I reeled in a 19-inch kokanee. It had taken that new Kokabow rig! The wind made boat control impossible and we packed it in. Thanks for getting me out Austin!

Kokanee are big and fat on Lake Roosevelt this winter. This one hit the new Kokabow Copper Series blade and Ravisher spinner.
