By Dave Graybill

My wife hadn’t been out in the new Kingfisher Escape 2025 from Bob Feil Boats and Motors yet, so we spent Tuesday on Lake Chelan. Man was it fun. We launched above the dam at 7 and had lost one and caught one by 7:30. We joined a small fleet of boats that were fishing off Lakeside Park, and trolled around with them for a couple of hours. I must say that although this was my first trip to Chelan for kokanee in the new boat, I was confident. I had a great selection of Kokabow blades, spinners and squidders on board and this gear has never let me down. I had a tub of white shoe peg corn scented with Graybills Guide Formula Kokanee flavor and the fish liked it. We were getting a fish here and there, and then at about 10:30 the bite went full on. I had a hard time getting both rods out. Twice I hooked kokanee before I even got the line attached to the clip on the downrigger. It was wild. The fish aren’t big, but the action is terrific, and I can’t wait for that fresh kokanee dinner. What a great day.
