The weather forecast for Lake Chelan last Friday was ugly. It called for rain and wind. So, when Brian Anantatmula and I launched his boat above the dam there was just one other boat in the parking lot. It turned out to be wet but not windy and the kokanee fishing was great! Brian had four rods set up on sliding lead balls of 2 to 4 ounces and all four rods were getting hit at one time or another. We lost track of how many doubles we had, and get this, we didn’t use a net! Yup. We were getting so many fish and so often that we just hoisted them up over the transom. We lost a couple, but it didn’t matter. We had our 20 fish in about an hour and a half. It was a blast. We spent our time out in the middle of the lake opposite Lakeside Park for the most part. We used a variety of lures to get them. Brian likes to tie up his own rigs and uses some different blades. I stuck with my Kokabow blades and spinners. The fish are shallow and there are tons of them. Some were 12 to 13 inches, but most about 11 inches.
